Local Rhode Island DJ Extraordinaire DJ Ra-Ma, was quite taken by a recent YouTube clip he saw. The DJ was performing and doing a wonderful job and the crowded wedding reception was having a blast. So you may ask, “What’s Wrong With This Picture?”

Well, what DJ Ra-Mu was stunned to see was the DJ performing his act, virtually word for word. In a medium such as being a DJ, your words are your art and they are your product. No one likes to get ripped off and DJ Ra-Mu is no different. I sat down with him recently and he had the following to say:

“I guess that I’m flattered”, says Ra-Mu.  ”You would think that if you were going to steal my act word for word, you might want to do it out of the state of Rhode Island”, chuckles Ra-Mu.  ”Many DJ’s and past clients have called and emailed me telling me that there is some goofy skinny guy out there trying to do my act.  This used to happen years ago when I did stand up comedy in the 90’s.  One weekend, I’f be doing a show in New York City and two weeks later, some hack comic from Jersey is stealing my jokes word for word.”  ”I don’t know what this world is coming to”, sighs Ra-Mu.   “Whats next, is this rookie DJ going to change his name to Ra-Mu also?  If that happened, I’ll have to be know as the artist formerly known as Ra-Mu.”

When asked what would Ra-Mu do if he was a guest at a wedding and Rookie Mimic Boy was the entertainer – “I guess I would just shake his hand and tell him that he reminded alot of this guy that I saw on you tube name Ra-Mu.”
